Hi all,

Would an EP803 be too aggressive for something like dial plastics ? Especially with it being a rotary ??

I have a das 6 pro plus and was thinking of getting a polisher for smaller areas (headlights, dials etc)! as I've read I can't fit a 3" backing plate to it..

Thanks

When you say "dial plastics" do you mean inside the car?

Nothing wrong with a rotary on Headlights and rear light :!: As with any plastics you just have to keep the speed down so it doesn't get too hot! Aggressive comes more from the pad and cut of the polish.

In fact a rotary generates less heat with a small backing plate than a DA machine.

Not sure where you read you can't fit a 3" backing plate to a DA :? .Here is 3" for a DA http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing ... _1248.html

What you can do with a rotary is go down to 1.5 and 2" backing plates. I have 2" plates for mine

Thanks for reply,

Yes, internal plastic dials. Just seen pics of a before and after for this area, after someone purchased the Shinemate, so happy there.

I have the pro plus, so that backing plate is for pro and regular das 6.

Well there lies the problem with the pro plus.

To me it seems like over kill to buy a rotary just for internal plastic dials  . Yes it will do the job but so will a bottle of Meguiars PlastRX plastic cleaner and polish by hand with some good pads. If you have the spare money it's up to you.

Not just for internal work, but was curious as i am not getting the results required by hand using plastx or quixx.

I'd obviously be using the tool for headlights, fogs, Mirrors bumpers etc ..

Personally I only use a rotary. I have a DA but now hate it due to the vibrations . Rotary's are a joy to use :D
