HEy guys. My dads just bought a 08 plate qashqai with 19000 miles on, the paint is in really good nick as I don't think it's ever been washed, barely any swirls in it what so ever. so I said I'll pop over and give it a valet for him.
I'm after some advice to get the best shine using the products in my arsenal, I'll give you a break down of what I have .
FK 1016 wash and wax
Meguairs Clay bar
Dodo juice lube
Lime prime
Auto glym super resin
Autofinesse Ultra Glaze
sonus caranuba spritz
Colinite 476s wax

So basicly just after a good process to get a good shine . I have been out of the detailing scene for a while so have forgotten the best steps to use .

I was thinking the obvious 2BM, followed by a clay. But slightly lost after this .

Cheers for your time peeps !!

Tom

welcome back to the forum :)

here's my suggestion.....

after a good wash down, then use an iron fallout remover, rinse, de-tar, then use an APC, rinse and then clay, rinse and then dry......this will reveal the true state of the paintwork and give a clean surface upon which to work upon.

Unless you have a machine polisher and thereby able to polish effectively, I would then bypass the SRP and use the Lime prime (its a hybrid pre-cleaner with lots of fillers and a glaze.)...put down at least 2 coats of this.

Then top it off with the Colli wax.

to save a bit of money...kenotek ULTRA wheel cleaner not only a great wheel cleaner, but can also be used on the bodywork to use as a fallout remover.

Thanks for the reply!! I have some bilberry wheel cleaner but will use that only for the wheels obviously. I will invest in the iron x stuff now I think. Thanks for the welcome ! It's good to be back, looking forward to some summer days to get out and have a bit of relaxation cleaning time haha. instead of the cold wet winters!!!
